India sources have been claimed that India has surpassed Japan to become the world’s 4th largest economy in terms of GDP.
India has become the world’s fourth largest economy after the US, China and Germany. Indian officials say that if current trends continue, India could become the world’s third-largest economy in the next few years. The final ranking will be confirmed after annual GDP data is published in 2026.
According to the review conducted by the Federal Press Information Office, “India’s GDP has already reached about $4.18 trillion, surpassing Japan to become the fourth largest economy in the world, and with a projected GDP of $7.3 trillion by 2030, it is poised to displace Germany from third place in the next 2.5 to 3 years.” It was said.
Additionally, Indian officials stated that real GDP grew by 8.2 percent in the second quarter of FY 2025-26, accelerating from 7.8 percent in the first quarter and 7.4 percent in the last quarter of FY 2024-25.
