Q: Do I need a visa to go to China?

A: Yes, it is required for Turkish citizens. If you are visiting mainland China, you must obtain a Chinese visa through the Embassy or Consulate General before visiting China.

Q: Which countries can travel to China without a visa?

A: Nationals holding valid ordinary passports of 48 countries, are exempted from visa requirement if coming to China for the purpose of business, tourism, family or friends visits, exchange and transit. They can stay in China for no more than 30 days without a visa. According to the China National Immigration Administration, the countries it has listed as of November 2025 are as follows.

Q: Do I need a visa to go to Hong Kong or Macau?

A: Turkish citizens have the right to stay in Hong Kong for up to 90 days and in Macau for up to 30 days without a visa for purposes such as tourism and business trips.

Q: I have a green passport, can I visit China without a visa?

A: Yes. If you are a Turkish citizen with a green passport, you can visit China without a visa for a period not exceeding 30 days. However, you will be asked questions about how long you will stay and what your plans are during passport control. Be prepared for these questions in advance.

Q: Do I have to fill out an arrival card when entering China, and how do I fill it out online?

A: Yes, you need to fill it out. The arrival card is a card containing information such as your passport, flight details, accommodation, and phone number, which you can fill out on the plane or before passport control. Q: I’ve arrived in China. Do I have to do accommodation registration? How can I register my address?

A: Yes, you must register your address within 24 hours of your arrival in China. However, if you are staying in a hotel or a university dormitory, you do not need to do this. Hotels and student dormitories automatically register your address for you. But if you are not staying in a hotel and have rented an apartment, you can register your address by going to the nearest police station or online.
