Is Iran the next target after Venezuela?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

US President Donald Trump talked on various current issues in an interview on Fox News. Regarding the ongoing protests in Iran in particular, he said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are shooting to people. If they kill people, if they grab and take to imprison them, if they hang them or kill them, if they do that we are gonna hit them very hard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fox News anchor claimed that Ali Khamenei was planning to flee to Russia. Trump confirmed that such plans exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump also said; \u201cThe crowds are massive. There have been people killed, but it\u2019s more from death by stomping. It\u2019s people running in a certain direction. They know it\u2019s a stampede, I guess the best word. You talk about stampede for cattle \u2014 the people are stampeding, and you are losing a lot of people with a stampede. The enthusiasm to overturn that regime is incredible. Nobody has ever seen anything like what\u2019s happening right now. These people are totally unarmed people. They love their country. I have put Iran on notice. If they do anything bad to these people, we are going to hit them very hard.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If they shoot at protesters, \u201cthey will pay for it with Hell.\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump had made similar statements on Hugh Hewitt\u2019s show. President Trump said the following on the program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey have a lots of riots in Iran. if they do it we will hit them very hard. Some of them killed you know problems of crowd control and other things. We are watching very closely. The crowd is large and stampee. but people were killed in a stampede and I’m not sure I can hold anyone responsible. If they do that, they are gonna pay with Hell.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 12th day of protests initiated by shopkeepers in Tehran’s Grand bazaar on December 28, widespread protests targeting the regime took place in many Iranian cities. It is generally known that these protests are supported by the United States (US) and Israel in an attempt to create internal chaos in Iran. While slogans in support of the former Shah of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, were frequently chanted during the protests, the activity of Kurdish groups was also noticeable. Furthermore, the fact that Iranian flags were torn down in some cities suggests that the aim is more about creating a turmoil in Iran than directly targeting the regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
