
China’s economy grew by 5.4% in the first half of 2025
China’s growth figures have been announced. China’s GDP grew by 5.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2025. China had shown 5.4% growth in the first quarter. Despite the US imposing high additional tariffs on China in the second quarter, growth in China did not fall below 5%. The National People’s Congress work report stated that China expects 5% growth by the end of 2025.
- Value-added industrial production: increased by 6.4% annually
- Retail sales: increased by 5% annually
- Fixed asset investments: increased by 2.8% annually
