
Ambassador Selçuk Ünal received Feng Zimin, Deputy Director General Chongqing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and his delegation at the Embassy. A statement issued by the Embassy said that during the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation opportunities in many areas.

Promotion Event held in Beijing on December 5, World Turkish Coffee Day

The Beijing Embassy’s Cultural and Tourism Office, in collaboration with the Jin Shang Center and Sultan Restaurant, organized an event themed “More Than Coffee, Turkish Coffee” on December 5, World Turkish Coffee Day. Ebubekir Kadri Bişkinler, Cultural and Tourism Advisor at the Embassy of Turkey in Beijing, gave a speech expressing his great honor and happiness in sharing coffee, a product of Turkey’s thousands of years of cultural heritage, with his Chinese friends. In his speech, Undersecretary Bişkinler stated that Turkish coffee was added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013 and will become Turkey’s first “traditional product name” officially registered in the European Union in 2025. He said that this double honor not only highlights its global cultural and historical value, but also represents the cultural pride of the Turkish people.
Turkish coffee was served to the Chinese guests in attendance, and an introduction was given about Turkish coffee culture and tradition. During the coffee service, guests were also treated to exquisite Turkish sweets. In addition, cultural traditions such as Turkish coffee brewing techniques, coffee serving rules, and coffee fortune telling were explained.
