The Silk News Writing Guidelines
The Silk News gladly accepts original and well-researched contributions from academics, journalists, analysts, and policy makers in international relations. We value perspectives, analyses, and engaging articles that shed light on global issues.
Scope
We focus on topics aligned with our editorial mission of providing in-depth analysis on international relations, global trends, and Turkish-Chinese relations. Contributors are encouraged to submit articles in the following areas:

What We Publish

Length
Analysis and Opinion Pieces: 1,000–1,500 words
Policy Briefs: 800–1,200 words
Book Reviews: 600–1,000 words
Format
Submit your writing in Word (.doc or .docx) format.
Use clear headings and subheadings for readability.
Include references or links to reliable sources (you may use footnotes or references).
Provide a short author biography (50–100 words) indicating your affiliation and relevant links.
Include a passport-sized photo (optional, but preferred).
Clarity over jargon – Write for an informed but non-expert audience.
Use a neutral and analytical style in articles; opinion pieces may use a persuasive style, but should be respectful and evidence-based.
Ensure all abbreviations are spelled out in full upon first use.
Ethics and Editorial Standards
Originality is mandatory. Submitted articles must be your own work and must not have been published elsewhere.
There must be no plagiarism. All articles will be checked for originality; works containing plagiarism will be rejected outright.
Content generated by artificial intelligence is not accepted. We do not accept articles generated or largely written by artificial intelligence tools.
The responsibility for accuracy lies with the author; sources must be reputable and verifiable.
The editorial team reserves the right to edit for clarity, length, and style while preserving the author’s voice.
Fee and Submission Policy
We only accept unsolicited contributions.
No monetary compensation is paid for submissions; publication is voluntary, intended to provide a reputable platform for your analyses and ideas.
